COULD WE HAVE A FIRST TIME DOUBLE?

When the History of the club was written in 2007, a small section was given over to the batsmen who have scored a thousand runs or more during the season. Jo Montgomery joins the list with his 2008 season. In limited overs cricket, from 1966, these now are:

Raman Lamba 1368  in 1988

Raman Lamba 1266 in 1987

Michael Clarke 1211 in 1991

Raman Lamba 1127 in 1994

Taimur Khan 1028 in 2007

Ryan Haire 1026 in 2006

Jo Montgomery 1025 in 2008

Andrew White 1025 in 2003

Ryan Haire 1005 in 2004

This season we have the distinct possibility that two of our key batsmen will achieve this landmark. To date here are the records of Ryan and Andrew.  As you can see Ryan, without the disputed Twenty20 runs, has reached the 1030 with six matches to go!!  Andrew needs another 63 to join the batting milestone makers.
