This was the fifth meeting of these sides in the Irish Cup with North Down 3-1 up.

Another good wicket at The Green saw Phoenix bat when winning the toss and Kelly and Strydom got them off to a steady start.before Peter Davison has Kell caught bt Ruan Pretorius.

With Rory Anders and their Captain NIc Pretorius going cheaply it required 36 from Ari Kavales and 24 from Tom Anders to enable Reinhart Strydom to cruise to  an unbeaten 109. A terrific innings from the veteran all rounder.

226 for 7 was a below par score at The Green but the wet conditions would make the chase tricky.

Ruan Pretorius

Danny Graham went on to 47 before being bowled leg stump but he had added runs with Nathan Burns (15) and with the key to victory Ruan Pretorius.

Ali Shields had gone cheaply but Pretorius was dynamic and his execution of the reverse sweep, immaculate. With Peter Eakin looking in control the pair saw the game won

As downpours came and went and the Duckworth Lewis sheet often referred to, the game was reaching an interesting conclusion when the last shower effectively came in the home side's favour and the 187 for 3 on a revised target got them home officially by 7 wickets.
