In a complete reversal of fortunes North Down failed to produce a performance at the Lawn on Sunday in the Gardiner Bros Premier League.

At The Green on Saturday the side had had a comfortable win against the Villagers and hopes were high for a close encounter. Not to be, as the visitors were dismissed for a paltry 125.

After a flying start 51 for 1 in 7 overs, the North Down captain's decision to bat first looked justified but North Down crumbled against the spin of left arm bowler Gary Kidd who took 7 wickets for 9 runs in 10 overs 4 of which were 'maidens'

The same bowler  took 1 wicket for 61 runs at The Green in April and 1 for 44 off 4 overs in the previous encounter last week!!

From 61 for 1 North Down crashed to 125 all out, with only Danny Graham (33) showing any resistance.

Carl Robinson and Stuart Nelson picked up a wicket each and Marty Moreland bowled 8 overs for only 27 opening the attack but the only consolation perhaps is the fact that we don't have to play Waringstown again in the league and still retain top spot in what looks like a very competitive league.
