Trevor McMillan

It is with great sadness that the club reports the passing of Trevor McMillan.

Big T, as he was affectionately known, was a cricketer and hockey player at North Down during the 70s and early 80s.

He will be remembered as the opening bowler for the 2nd XI although he played games at the higher and lower levels throughout his cricketing days.

Great success came to the McMillan brothers in 1981, when, with Jack, he won the prestigious NCU Junior  Cup. (Trevor  back row third player from left)

Honours had come earlier with 3rd XI bowling cup awards and a league winner's medal with Derek Steen's 3rd XI in 1974, when against North of Ireland ,he took 6 for 31.

His hockey captain, Robert Johnston, recalls how Trevor seemed to follow him 'down the teams' and ended playing on a successful and enjoyable 5ths.

Trevor (back row 1st left)  was a much liked colleague who made many friends in his North Down sporting circles.

To Margaret and the family we send our heartfelt sympathies.
