 BOROUGH COUNCIL SPORTS AWARDS
Friday 7 March 2008 Nominations but no awards
A good evening was held in the Queen's Hall in Ards on Friday when the Ards Borough Council Sports Awards were distributed to the winners in 9 categories.
We had nominations for the SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT AWARD, SPORTS ADMINISTRATOR OF THE YEAR, UNDER 18 TEAM OF THE YEAR and SPORTS TEAM OF THE YEAR.
Both the Under 13s and the 1st XI received last 3 nominations but missed out to Ards Amateur Swimming Club Youth Team and Donaghadee Golf Club Irish Youth Team respectively.
The under 13s were well represented

Edith, a loyal North Down supporter is flanked by two of Comber Recs long serving members and it was great to see Jackie win the Sports Administrator of the Year award for his 40 years of duties at Park Way.
