BREADY CRUISE AT THE GREEN

Sunday 20 April 2008

Bready welcomed to The Green

Bready warmed up early at The Green with a variety of football and rugby skills to the fore.

Batting first in this 40 overs friendly, captain and vice captain, Peter Shields 106 retired and Marty Moreland 51 led the way with a terrific opening partnership.  Shields retired after reaching his century and Moreland after hitting his 'fifty' leaving Daniel Graham and Gary Patterson a maximum 10 overs at the wicket.

With the score on 173 with 10 overs remaining North Down could only muster a target of 224 for the visitors with only Andrew Haire looking good on 27 not out.

The opening stand between Dougherty and Rankin passed the hundred mark before Rankin departed lbw Haire 57.  Both openers looked at ease against the North Down attack on a placid batting wicket and Dougherty hit the second unbeaten century of the day with 108. The Bready pro, F Holtzhansen hit an unbeaten 38 and Breadyy won comfortably in the 33rd over.
