North Down Boys make Grosvenor 1st XI debut
The 3 North Down boys, Scott Irvine, Michael Martin and Alistair Shields all made their Grosvenor Grammar School 1st XI debuts in the Schools Cup at Royal School Dungannon today (30th April).
Scott bowled second change and returned figures of 4 – 2 – 5 – 0 to restrict progress in the middle of Dungannon's innings. Michael was unlucky not to pick up a wicket bowling third change and completed his spell of 4 – 0 – 18 – 0. The Dungannon innings closed when the last wicket fell off the last ball of the 25th over as they posted a total of 92.
Grosvenor reached this target in the penultimate over to record a 5 wicket victory. Scott, batting 5, scored 9 in a good supporting role to J Campbell who scored 36. Alistair came in no. 6 batsman and saw the team home finishing 1 not out.
