NCU President Ian Gourley presents Andrew Haire of North Down with his Man of the Match Award for his 4 for 23
Andrew Haire picked up the Down Democrat MOM with a fine bowling display at Shaw's Bridge. His 4 wickets began with the dismissal of James Shannon caught behind the wicket trying to force the ball to point and his economical early overs were a tremendous bonus and backed up the opening bowling performances of Peter Connell and Gavin McKenna. Indeed Instonians could only score at 2 runs per over until near the drinks interval at 25 overs and the loss of Stevenson, McCann and Shannon left Inst 'firmly on the back foot'. Marty Moreland and Ralph Coetzee gave nothing away and although Richard Heasley hit a couple of fine 'sixes'late in the innings it was to no avail as the 10 man team went out after a six day interrupted match.

Eugene Moleon tries to force the pace
The game at the break hinged on the performance of Andrew White, who produced an innings of varied shots, some classy and some outrageous.

The reverse sweep mania persists
A reverse shot almost found the hand of Ryan Haire at mid wicket but Whitey's 63 was the top score in the match.

Godd footwork, balance and execution of shot brings runs for 'Whitey' through the covers
