We, the members of North Down Cricket Club have heard with much regret of the death of Mr Willie Coulter, who was for many years one of our best batsmen, and whose bowling was so often most useful.
We can never forget his brilliant innings of 191 not out against Millom (Cumberland) in 1911, and his 164 against Ulster in the 2nd round of the Senior Cup in 1910.
Of even greater credit was the sacrifice of time and money which he made on many occasions in order to come from Scotland and other distant places to play for North Down, as it showed such a fine example to members of loyalty to the Club.
