Haire Ryan

Ryan driving against the Scots

Ryan Haire on his day is quite simply the greatest destroyer of bowling in the Club and possibly the League.  Sometimes slow to start, he soon has bowlers at a loss where to pitch it.  Currently having a quiet season by his standards but has shown his versatility by bowling overs in the recent Cup Final and taking wickets.

He is an outstanding fielder with a great throwing arm and is on the fringes of a very strong International side.

In 2001 he played what is probably the greatest Cup Final innings in the history of the competition.  He came together with his Captain, Peter Shields with the score at 87 for 3, ran out his dad Robin, took 25 balls before getting 'off the mark' and then scored an brilliant 109 not out in quick time. Shields was undefeated on 74 and the innings closed on 287 for 3. Game set and match!
