BEST PERFORMANCE FOR NORTH DOWN:
For the 2XI Vs Warringstown 2XI – scoring a hundred chasing 230 and winning by 9 wickets!!
MOST MEMORABLE GAME FOR NORTH DOWN 1stX1:
May Day 2008 Vs Lisburn – Lisburn after cruising the whole innings ended up requiring 6 of the last over from Taimur Khan. After scrapping and scramblimg the visiting side needed three to win of the last ball but the captain, Trevor McKeown, tried to hit over the top to glory only to be caught by Peter Connell to gift North Down a three run victory. TENSE!!!!
MOST MEMORABLE PERFORMANCE AGAINST NORTH DOWN:
MOST DETERMINED PLAYER AT PRACTICE AND WHY:
Probably 'Big Su' (Andrew Sutherland). Never stands still and constantly is looking to better his fielding and catching abilities
FUNNIEST GUY IN THE 1st X1 DRESSING ROOM AND WHY:
Russler is a good man to have in a changing room for providing a few laughs but new boy Kieran Donnelly is also a very funny and crazed person to have in a changing room.
WHO IS THE SMARTEST TEAM MATE AND WHY:
There is obviously a lot of smart people in the changing room (in their own special ways) although for cricket 'smartness' I would have to say skipper Shields.
WHO IS THE CLUMSIEST TEAM MATE AND WHY:
If Dazzler was still here, he would run away with it..... but 'Gav' could well be up there I must say!!
BEST CATCH YOU'VE TAKEN:
Vs Bangor 1XI fielding at long off: With Marty Moreland bowling the ball was hit right down the middle and when looking at adjacent fielder 'TK' for ownership responsibilities it was clear I had to go quickly and ending up taking the diving catch going forward inches of the ground
BEST CATCH YOU'VE SEEN TAKEN:
Probably playing Warringstown 2XI where one of the ND batsman set up for a cut shot and middle it only for their gully fielder to jump instantly and take a full stretch catch with his left hand!!
BEST 3 CRICKETERS PLAYED WITH AT N.DOWN AND WHY:
Ryan Haire, Taimur Khan and Peter Shields for generally setting the standards and performing to the best of their abilities on a consistent basis. They have become good role models for young cricketers of the club, both as players and coaches, to model themselves on.
BEST 3 CRICKETERS PLAYED AGAINST AND WHY:
Rory McCann for his batting abilities and excellent glove work behind the stumps restricting the opposing batsman
Kyle McCallan who has the ability to change a game with bat or ball
Nigel Jones for his all round abilities with bat, ball and in the field
FAVOURITE GROUND TO PLAY AT APART FROM THE GREEN AND WHY:
Osborne Park – Played there all through school and when the ground is prepared to its highest quality (ICC 2005) I would maintain it is one of the best pitches in Northern Ireland
WHO IS THE BEST “TEAM MAN” ON NORTH DOWN 1st X1 AND WHY:
Marty Moreland for his loyalty to the club and commitment to coaching in my early days. Even with the man falling apart at the seams (sorry mate) and with a full family he turns out every sat and sun to play for the 1sts and has been known to put in many, many big game winning performances over the years.

WHAT ARE YOUR OWN INDIVIDUAL GOALS FOR THIS COMING SEASON:
Enjoy my cricket for whoever I play for until my exams are finished at Queens and then hopefully push for a full time slot on the firsts and make a bit of impact on premier league cricket for the team.
WHAT TO DO YOU SEE AS THE “TEAMS” GOALS/ASPIRATIONS FOR THIS COMING SEASON:
I would expect everyone's answer to be the same as I have never known North Down to settle for anything less than first place. After a disappointing season last season I would expect the team to be hungrier than ever to win the big trophies the NCU and ICU has to offer.

Look at the poise!
